Dr. S. M. Shuaib Zaidi
Dr Shuaib Zaidi has been in the field of Medicine and Surgery for more than 21 years, out of which the last 13 years have been devoted to Surgical Oncology. He is an experienced Surgical Oncologist and a Thoracic Onco-Surgeon. After super-specialization (MCh.) in Surgical Oncology, he underwent thoracic Oncosurgery training from prestigious Oita University Hospital, Japan. He has expertise in Thoracoscopic and Video assisted Thoracic Surgery for Lung, esophageal and mediastinal Cancers.
He initiated Thoracoscopic Surgery at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute in 2006. This has significantly improved postoperative recovery after major thoracic surgery. He has also been trained in Robotic thoracic Surgery from Strasbourg, France.
Dr Zaidi developed a new technique of marginal mandibular nerve preservation in Head and neck cancer surgery which was published in an American Journal (Journal of Surgical Oncology) in 2007.
Before joining Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute he has worked as Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology at Cancer Institute (WIA), Chennai, and Senior Consultant at Ratan Cancer Hospital, Kanpur, Batra Cancer Centre and Max Superspeciality Hospitals, Saket and Patparganj.
